Monica Hafenbreadl
Monica is my older sister and best friend since birth. I’ve known that Monica would play an important role in my wedding since I was a little girl. Not only is she amazingly supportive, but she is the best at crafts and planning decorations, which is perfect for wedding preparations! She's a social justice advocate and a friend to everyone she meets.
Malorie Imhoff
Malorie is Sara’s college best friend and roommate of three years. Malorie and Sara met at St. Norbert College and instantly clicked over their love of Lizzie McGuire. At SNC, Malorie and Sara could frequently be found singing to animals and petitioning the caf for more vegetarian options.
Zeke Johnson
Zeke has been one of Sara’s best friends for the past 12 years. Zeke and Sara met in high school and became an inseparable trio with Katie (see below). Zeke and Sara rode in the backseat of Katie’s car every day on the way to school, and the group alternated between carpool karaoke and silent drives full of teenage angst. *cough*KATIE*cough*
Katie Kauth
Katie has been Sara’s right hand friend since they were three and four years old. Katie and Sara were neighbors for 16 years and spent their time creating lip syncing bands, scootering up and down the street, and obsessing over celebrities. Katie and Sara are in constant contact with one another in their never-quiet group chat with Zeke.
Elizabeth VanTreeck
Elizabae is Sara’s “special friend,” or so they liked to joke when Sara babysat Elizabeth when they were 12 and 17 years old, respectively. More than babysitting, Sara drove Elizabeth to her summer activities and they sat around reading books together. As they got older, their friendship continued to grow and Elizabeth has become like a younger sister to Sara.
Sarah Phillips
Sarah was one of Sara’s first friends in Charlottesville. Sarah was a new member at Sara and Sebastian’s church, and Sara was chosen to be her sponsor for confirmation. The rest is history! The Sara(h)s have spent many nights laughing and sipping wine together.
Jose Luis Leon Falconi
Jose Luis is one of my longest friends. With Felipe, we form a strong tripod that has been through a lot of adventures, including international trips! JL is multi-talented, he draws, plays music, is a tech-lover and a pediatrician, currently lives in Madrid with his wife Maria!
Felipe Garay
Felipe is the 2nd part of the tripod, he is also a doctor and lives in Lima. We've been friends since 1997. Felipe brings the most laughter to the tripod, and in fact he is one of the few people in this world that can make Sebastian laugh so hard! Felipe is mad good with the guitar and does martial arts.
Josh Reyes
Josh is one of my ECA brothers! Josh has many qualities that define him: he is a dad, a lawyer and has been working for the Military for a bit (Thank you for your service), but aside from his fancy education and titles, Josh is one of those loyal, smart, can-have-fun-but-insightful conversations type of guy. In a movie, he would be the guy who makes the right decisions for the group while letting everyone have fun.
Robert Holup
Rob is another one of my ECA brothers. I technically never lived with him but he has been part of the gang for a while. He is my second lawyer friend. If Josh is the lawyer I would go when I've done nothing wrong and I'm framed as guilty, Rob is the lawyer I would go if I have done something wrong and I'm framed as guilty. Another loyal, FUN-loving, laughter-filled, debacuhery-creator, Rob is a must in a pack of dudes I would carry around.
Bedford West
Bedford is *ribbit*, frogman, the J of justice and another ECA brother. What's important is that Bedford indulges me in the most stimulating conversations, it is ready to try lots of new things (Bonaroo, spicy food) and is just plainly great. I don't think I've ever met someone that didn't like Bedford. Also he is smart.
James Harrison
Jamesis! Love me! James was wondering around Nashville, TN in peace, just looking forward to get his PhD from Vanderbilt (fancy) until I came in like a wrecking ball to destroy his introvert life. I feel like James is my most loveable friend. He is nice and SO considerate, he just wants to make the people he likes happy. I took advantage of that and made him do all the things I wanted. James survived living with me in a 500 square foot apartment for 5 years while going through an emotionally taxing PhD. Well it was supposed to be that, but with James, all I remember is having lots of fun.
John Bookas
Bookas is just John Bookas, and an ECA brother. Bookas is the most interesting man in the world. He is the kind of guy who seems quiet, but then when he says something is either really interesting or really hmmm not interesting. He is the kind of guy that if we go out to bar hop, he may get lost, spend the night out in the cold, wake up, go to the farmers market, get some strawberries, sees his friend the next morning, and he'll calmly be like "Hey guys, what's up?". In other words, he is resilient and loyal.
